Alpine Friends offers personally hosted catered chalet holidays in Châtel, at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Run by Luke and Grace Friend, the chalet sleeps up to 8 guests across four ensuite bedrooms and is offered primarily on an exclusive-use basis for families and small groups.

Our winter stays include breakfast, afternoon tea, six catered evening meals, wine with dinner and practical support before and during your stay. With the main meals and daily details taken care of, guests can enjoy a smooth, comfortable ski week without the pressure of shopping, cooking or organising restaurant tables after a day on the mountain.

Alpine Friends is based on the Très les Pierres / Linga side of Châtel, close to the free resort shuttle for access to Linga, the village centre and the wider lift network.

Alpine Friends is run by Luke and Grace Friend, together with their daughters, Florence and Roseanna. We are an English family based in France, with years of experience in ski resorts, chalet hosting and mountain hospitality.

We know how much difference thoughtful hosting can make to a ski holiday: clear communication before you arrive, practical help during your stay, generous food, and a calm, welcoming chalet atmosphere at the end of each day.

Our aim is to make guests feel properly looked after, without formality or fuss.

Alpine Friends is run by the Friend family: Luke, Grace, Florence and Roseanna. It grew from the things we genuinely love: mountain life, skiing, generous food and welcoming people into a place that feels looked after.
