Food & drink at our catered chalet in Châtel

Food is central to the Alpine Friends chalet experience. Our winter stays include breakfast, afternoon tea, six catered evening meals and wine with dinner, served in a relaxed chalet atmosphere around the table.

Our menu brings together Alpine favourites and mountain-inspired dishes from the Alps, the Pyrenees, Japan, the Himalayas and Central Europe: warm, satisfying food suited to families and small groups after a day in the Portes du Soleil.

Evening meals are designed to feel special without being formal, with carefully chosen drinks, children’s meals where needed and dietary requirements handled by arrangement where possible.

What’s included

Breakfast

Fresh bread and pastries, jams, honey and spreads, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, porridge, eggs cooked to order, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Children are very welcome at Alpine Friends. We can offer earlier or simpler meals by arrangement, depending on age, appetite and preferences.

Typical options may include pasta dishes, mild chicken curry with rice, croast chicken, sausages and mash, baked potatoes, soup and bread, crêpes or simple puddings.
